Dog Star by Lindlee Smith of Plains and Pine is a modern variation on the classic Lone Star quilt. Eight large center diamonds are outlined with three fabrics to create a continuous framed effect around the center star.

The pattern includes small, medium, and large star options plus instructions for expanding them into larger quilts, for eight quilt sizes total. It uses bias cutting and piecing plus four Y-seams. Printed paper pattern; Intermediate.
